Guide to tuning of pulse following for V&T EcoDriveCN® variable frequency drives (VFDs)
Goal of tunning
Master the wiring and tuning of pulse following, wiring and selection of PG card
Wiring
Wiring of main circuit: connect 3 phase AC power source to R, S, T; connect U, V and W to the motor.
Wiring of control circuit:
Connect OUT-A or OUT-B of PG card of main variable frequency drive to the terminal X7 of control board of slave VFD.
Connect the terminal Y1 of PG card of main variable frequency drive to the terminal X1 of control board of slave drive.
Connect the terminal OV of PG card of main variable frequency drive to the terminal COM of control board of slave inverter.

Parameters setting of main VFD
1. Parameters rotation auto tuning. For details, refer to the guide of parameters auto tuning.
2. Set P0.03 = 8
3. Set the pulse number of revolution Pd.21 of encoder, according to nameplate of encoder
4. Set P2.01 = 1, set multi-function (M) key to JOG function
5. Press M key to jog operation. Check if the inverter is running normally. If the failure happens, please change the direction of encoder Pd.22
6. If the inverter (VFD) is running correctly, please set P7.00 = 37. The parameters of main drive are configured completely.
Parameters setting of slave drive
1. Parameters rotation auto tuning. For details, refer to the guide of parameters auto tuning.
2. set P0.03 = 8
3. Set the pulse number of revolution Pd.21 of encoder, according to nameplate of encoder
4. Set P2.01 = 1, set multi-function (M) key to JOG function
5. Press M key to jog operation. Check if the VFD is running normally. If the failure happens, please change the direction of encoder Pd.22
6. If the inverter (VFD) is running correctly, please set P5.00 = 33.
7. Set P0.16 = 3, for pulse sequence control
Operation method: Run the slave motor firstly, then run the main motor. You will find that whatever the main motor runs, the slave motor will run as the main motor does.
